Hello ladies,
I am 25 years old (almost 26, but who’s counting) and I was born in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. At the age of 16, I moved to New Jersey in the United States and at the age of 21 I decided to try my luck in Rome, Italy. Traveling around the United States, Europe, Asia and Africa allowed me to better understand myself and learn about the world around me. I have been to 27 countries and I presently speak fluent Russian, English and Italian. I intend to study and become proficient in a few more languages so that I may better pursue my goals to become an International Peace Liaison. Anastasia Victoria I would like to invite all Young BPWs to attend the next Young BPW International Congress. The Young BPW International Congress will take place together with European Congress in Sorrento, Italy from September 28th till September 30th, 2012. I kindly ask all Presidents to spread the good news and encourage Young BPWs to attend. This weekend will focus on Leadership training under the theme: "Empowering Young to be Future Leaders". Start planning your trip to Italy and be prepared to learn, network and make new friends. If you have any questions, would like to sponsor a Young BPW to attend the Congress or simply interested to learn more about the upcoming event, do not hesitate to contact me. Register for the Young BPW International Congress
Anastasia Victoria Safarian, Young BPW International Representative Young BPW are all BPW members up to the age of 35. Usually we are members in our hometown Clubs, and enjoy the local and national program. Additionally we meet on our own. Most often we form Young BPW Teams in our Clubs or Federations and Associations – most preferably we don’t form a Club on our own (which would mean to have a load of Business Administration ;-) We are just like Mother and Daughter, learn from each other and take profit from each other. What are Young BPWs doing? These Young BPW Teams unite a great power and they often offer an additional program on local, national and international level. We organise theme-focused workshops and training seminars on e.g. Negotiation Skills, Meetings with Senior Managers as Role Models, forums on national and international issues, symposiums, and local Young BPW get-togethers. The big target is to encourage the exchange of ideas and information. The Reason for having Young BPW within BPWIt is a very simple reason: Young BPW are the younger members with a focus of interest in the planning and running a career, in combining family and career. And they often prefer a less formal meeting style. The integration within a local Club is essential not to split up between old and young BPW. Why we must continue to work towards common goals? We want to raise awareness of the historically high level of women's qualifications, and the work that they have achieved. We want to obtain equal opportunities for the advancement for women in the economy, politics, and all other organisations. We want to "break through the Glass Ceiling"! Young BPW activities Young BPW from all over the world visit the annual Commission on the Status of Women CSW in New York, and helping to lobby women’s rights. Congratulations to Aminata Sidibe, Young BPW Bamako (Mali) Representative on receiving the Yvonne Hebert Funding for her work in a Least Developed Country. This is great news indeed!
