BPW International

Making a Difference Through Leadership and Action.

BPW International joins "say NO to violence against women" internet-based campaign as a 'launch partner' of United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM). UNIFEM online toolkit (which include a campaign 'brief', facts and figures on violence against women, campaign banners, and more that can be use to help BPW affiliates to participate in this global advocacy effort) can be download from http://www.unifem.org/campaigns/vaw_25nov/toolkit.php.

Message from UNIFEM on How to Participate:

Your help is essential to send a strong message that ending violence against women must be a top priority. As you know, we are pleased to mention your organization in press materials and on the web site.

Since, the "say NO to violence against women" campaign will run until 25 November 2008, International Women's Day, we will continue outreach throughout this period. We welcome any suggestions you have on how to achieve the widest possible engagement and participation.

You can add your voice here >> www.saynotoviolence.org

Below is a link to a campaign toolkit that provides supporting materials, which can be used for your communications, outreach and membership. These materials include a campaign 'brief', facts and figures on violence against women, campaign banners, and more. They can be adapted for use on your web site and help connect people from your organization to this important global advocacy effort. A s more campaign materials become available, they will be added to this online toolkit.

Leading Empowerment

The Women's Empowerment Principles are a set of Principles for business offering guidance on how to empower women in the workplace, marketplace and community. They are the result of a collaboration between the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the United Nations Global Compact.

Leading Equality

Empowering women in the workplace includes ensuring that there is equal pay for work of equal value.  Women - regardless of which country they are living in - don´t get the same wages as men. Equal Pay Day marks the period of extra days in the current year that women need to work in order to achieve the same wages that their male counterparts earned during the previous financial year.
