Katherine Graham Peden passed away on 8 January 2006 at the age of 80. She helped create over 148,000 jobs during her term as the State Department of Commerce commissioner in 1964-1968. Three U.S. presidents, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter, named Katherine Peden to high-level advisory groups. She aided several Kentucky governors as an advisor in crafting economic development strategy. She chaired BPW International’s History Taskforce and produced two BPW History books in 1996.
