Themes & Bureau
The sixty-seventh session of the Commission on the Status of Women CSW 67 will take place from 6 to 17 March 2023.
- Priority theme: Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls;
- Review theme: Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls (agreed conclusions of the sixty-second session).
- Bureau
The Bureau of the Commission plays a crucial role in facilitating the preparation for, and in ensuring the successful outcome of the annual sessions of the Commission. Bureau members serve for two years. In 2002, in order to improve its work and ensure continuity, the Commission decided to hold the first meeting of its subsequent session, immediately following the closure of the regular session, for the sole purpose of electing the new Chairperson and other members of the Bureau (ECOSOC decision 2002/234).
The Bureau for the 67th session (2023) of the Commission on the Status of Women comprises the following members:

According to various reports from the 77th session of the UN General Assembly on women, energy, agriculture, entrepreneurship, education and globalization, females of all ages have been disproportionately harmed by COVID19. More targeted gender-responsive recovery measures are needed to address the considerable gender gaps and inequalities. The focus of this year’s discussions on education, innovation and technological change in the digital age is critical for achieving gender justice and equality and the economic empowerment of all women and girls. As we have only 90 places available for the Leaders’ Summit and 85 for the Clare Fulcher Dinner, we need your pre-registration. Please fill out the online forms.
You will soon receive a mail with the answer to your registration and with a link to buy tickets and pay by credit card. Wait for this mail. Pre-registration does not entitle you to definitive registration.
Please register with the online forms (see ‼️) as soon as possible and buy your ticket by using the link, which will be sent to you, before February 15th, 2023.
Should you have registered and then realize that you will not be able to travel, please cancel your registration before February 10, 2023. Afterwards, we will not be able to reimburse the registration fee. We are hoping to see many of you in New York.

Leaders' Summit at the Harmonie Club
Leaders’ Summit in New York at the Harmonie Club
3-4 March 2023
We invite Presidents of Clubs and Federations as well as Executives and interested members to the Leaders’ Summit which has a very empowering effect on all the participants. Participation for the two days will cost 260 € per person (new agreed price, IP Catherine). This amount covers the price of a welcome snack at arrival, a coffee break in the morning, a generous lunch and an afternoon coffee per day. The price of the venue is the responsibility of BPW International. We can accept a maximum of 90 persons.

CSW67-2023 - How to participate for NGO BPW International
Clarification to a Facebook post of Young BPW International about how to participate at CSW67
The registration is open from 7 October 2022 up to 27 January 2023 and will - as it is correctly said - go through Indico.
However, the number of places per NGO is very limited and the selection process for participation for NGO BPW International will be done by BPW International. Therefore, before registering on Indico, the BPW member will need the accreditation of BPW International.
BPW members interested in participation contact their Regional Coordinator (they can be found on the website on Members under their respective region). Their chances of selection are better if they are active in one of the themes of the CSW67 which are the following:
- Priority theme: Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls;
- Review theme: Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls

Newsletter Information from BPW International President
CSW67-2023
On October 14, 2022 BPW International presented a statement for CSW67. When our statement is accepted, we will publish it on our website. That same day, the platform for parallel events opened (s. News here from Oct 14, 2022). BPW International will submit one parallel event with physical presence and one virtual event on the review theme.
In the event of our Affiliates submitting parallel events under the name of the Federation of their country or side events in collaboration with their government, please inform BPW International when your proposals are accepted and communicate whether it will be a virtual or a physical event as well as time and date. Thank you very much for your cooperation.
Delegates for CSW67
As before COVID-19, each region will have 3 spaces for members who have a project in IT or Artificial Intelligence or on the subject of Rural Women. If you would like to participate, get in touch with your Regional Coordinator who will communicate the names of all interested members to President’s Office.
If you are not sure that you will be able to come, do not apply. As soon as BPW International has approved a name in the UN system, it cannot be changed. A no-show means a lost space. You have access to all parallel events without being a delegate.
Young BPWs
Each region can, in addition, present one young BPW Member. Announce yourself also to your Regional Coordinator or Subcoordinator. The same requirements apply to you as for the other BPW members.
Leaders’ Summit in New York at Harmonie Club
March 3-4, 2023
Since 2019, we have not been able to organize a Leaders’ Summit in New York. At present, BPW International intends to meet with its members for the Leaders’ Summit from 3rd to 4th of March, 2023. The dates are reserved. We are waiting for the quote for the food for the two days which then will decide the price of this event so that we can open registration.
Consultation Day, March 5, 2023
NGO CSW New York will organize the Consultation Day. Details will be published on the website of BPW International.
Claire Fulcher Dinner, March 5, 2023
The Claire Fulcher Dinner is organized to celebrate our UN Representatives who do excellent work during the year. In 2022 we had the anniversary of the 75th anniversary of our Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the UN. That we were registered so early was due to the work of Ester Hymer to whom we owe a lot. As we could not celebrate in person in 2022, we will do this on the occasion of our Claire Fulcher Dinner.

The contract is not yet finalized, but we will try to the New Westgate Hotel Central Station in New York. We will keep you posted as soon as we have agreed the contract.
