bpw.directory - Frequently Asked Questions FAQ

The bpw.directory is a networking tool that can be operated using a smartphone, a tablet or a PC. Registration is only open to BPW members; the entry is free of charge. It makes our professional competencies visible and promotes mutual exchange at the international association level, facilitated by entering the profession, the branch and the sector. The bpw.directory also shows the wealth of competencies of BPW International members to the outside world. Organizations and institutions, political bodies or the media can thus easily find competent women worldwide. bpw.directory is not an interactive social media tool; all contact is made outside the platform.

As a member of BPW in any BPW club around the world you can sign up to the bpw.directory. The condition is that your membership of your club is fully paid up at the time of registration.

Anyone can see and search all profiles. The bpw.directory adheres to the principle of #privacybydesign. Only the most basic data is mandatory for the entry. All other entries in the Sign-Up form are optional. The focus is on your profession and your professional activity.

The bpw.directory is a project is a project of BPW International inspired by the International Theme 2021-2024 New Actions through cooperation. The idea, financing and execution were realized under the leadership of Dr. Catherine Bosshart, BPW International President 2021-2024, and Dr. Antoinette Rüegg, BPW International President 2002-2005, with the support of the Executive Board. The members of the team working on the Directory were Ursula Schmid, IT Issues, and Daniela Rigassi, Administrator. bpw.directory war programmed by a young start-up with Marina Pantazis, Project Manager, and Nicolas Pantazis, IT, Biel/Bienne, Switzerland.

Contact in the bpw.directory is made exclusively via email. You do not have to enter any other address. The email address is not displayed. If someone wants to contact you, he/she will fill in and empty pop-up that will be sent to you via email. You then can decide to answer the contact mail or not.  

Yes, at any time. You can also delete your profile at any time, which we would very much regret. In this case all data is deleted immediately and not stored with BPW.

A photo is optional. If no photo is inserted, a substitution with the directory logo will be displayed automatically.

We have built in various controls to prevent false profiles. If false entries do occur, we also count on the social control form the clubs. In addition, the processes and entries are regularly controlled by the administrator. Spam and fake profiles will be deleted by the administrator without consultation. 

The bpw.directory adheres to the principle of #privacybydesign. Only the most basic data is required for the entry. Your email address is not displayed. All other entries in the registration form are optional. As soon as you delete your profile, all data is immediately deleted from the bpw.directory. Read here the Privacy Policy.

The profile is valid until the next Congress of BPW International. In the first 6 months of the following triennium, you will be asked to renew your profile.

You will be invited to enter your Club President's email address in your profile. When you click submit, an email will automatically got to this email address. In this email the President can confirm by one click your paid-up membership at the time of renewal. With this confirmation your profile is renewed. She can also click on the button "refuse". If the space provided does not contain an email address, no email will be sent. If the renewal process has not taken place within a specified period, the profile will be deactivated.
