Rapid advances in technology and science hold the promise of a better, more peaceful and prosperous future for people and the planet. Yet, in our interconnected and fast-changing world, we are not keeping pace with emerging risks and opportunities. At the same time, we are grappling with multiple conflicts and escalating geopolitical tensions, rising inequality and mistrust, stalled progress on the Sustainable Development Goals, and a climate emergency. As a global community, we face a pivotal choice.

It provides an opportunity to create international mechanisms
that better reflect the realities of the 21st century and can respond to today's and tomorrow's challenges and opportunities.
As a global community, we have a role in setting a better course for our world. By working together, we can achieve a safer, more peaceful, just, equal,inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous future.
