Visit to the Club in Buenos Aires - November 19-20, 2022
On the evening of 19 November 2022, the International President, Vice President Membership and the Director of the President's Office (she speaks Spanish and Portuguese) arrived in Buenos Aires together with the Treasurer, who had come to Argentina directly from Europe. A first walk took us to the Cathedral and Playa de Mayo. On Sunday morning, 20 November 2022, we met the BPW Buenos Aires Club. Marta Solimano, the former Regional Coordinator of Latin America, had chosen a very nice place for this meeting. We were welcomed with great warmth and joy.
We were very touched by the fact that two prospective new YoungBPW members were there. The club in Buenos Aires had suffered a lot due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The young people are a sign of new beginnings for this club. In the evening, some of the members accompanied us to a tango dinner. It is impossible to imagine a visit to Buenos Aires without tango. The comment of the Argentine women after the end of the show was: "Too much show and not enough tango". We Europeans were thrilled by the skill of the dancers and the melancholic music.
